Advancing research, standards and leadership for a longer-lived world.
The Shift Foundation is a nonprofit helping societies, institutions and leaders prepare for the demographic transformation already reshaping talent, markets, health, financial security and public systems.
The long term
has arrived.
People are living longer. Birth rates are falling. Societies are becoming more multigenerational — but most institutions were built for a different demographic reality.
The Shift Foundation works to close that gap — generating knowledge, developing standards and preparing leaders to act on demographic change.
Three areas of work, one shared purpose

Research & Data
We generate evidence, insights and regional data on demographic transformation, longevity and institutional readiness.

Standards
We develop practical frameworks that help organizations, governments and communities understand, measure and prepare for demographic change.

Leadership
We equip decision-makers with the knowledge and capabilities needed to lead in a longer-lived, multigenerational world.
The technical framework for the demographic shift era
The Shift Standard offers a structured methodology for understanding how demographic transformation affects work, markets, health, economic security and public systems.
Its goal is to help leaders, organizations and governments anticipate trends, assess their readiness and make better decisions for the future.
Healthspan & Wellbeing
Extending not just how long people live, but how many of those years are healthy and active.
Work & Purpose Architecture
Redesigning careers, learning and roles for longer, less linear working lives.
Generational Integration
Connecting generations instead of separating them, across workplaces and communities.
Longevity Financial Architecture
Rethinking savings, pensions and security for decades of additional life.
Longevity Dividend & Market Strategy
Turning an aging, multigenerational population into economic opportunity.
Demographic Governance
Building the institutions, policies and leadership to steward demographic change.

Initiatives seeking support
Your contribution helps turn demographic awareness into practical tools, open knowledge and institutional capacity.
Latin America is aging faster than many developed regions did — but with fewer resources and less time to prepare.
As longevity increases and birth rates decline, governments, organizations and communities face the challenge of adapting to a demographic reality for which few institutions were designed.
The Shift Foundation exists to help accelerate that transition through research, standards and leadership.
The Next Generation
Leadership Fund
Preparing the leaders who will shape
the century of longevity.
The demographic transition will redefine how we work, learn, care, save, consume and govern. Yet very few emerging leaders are being prepared to navigate these changes.
The Next Generation Leadership Fund supports scholarships, fellowships, mentorship and leadership development opportunities for those who will help shape the future of longer-lived and multigenerational societies.
100 Leaders. 10 Countries. One Shared Future.
Goal: Prepare 100 emerging leaders across Latin America by 2028.

Yet many of the frameworks guiding policy, business and public decision-making were designed for a very different reality. The Demographic Futures Fund supports the research, standards and evidence needed to help societies understand, anticipate and adapt to demographic change.
Knowledge today. Better decisions tomorrow.
Goal: Build the leading demographic readiness platform for Latin America.

The Foundation is guided by a Standard Council of leaders and experts across longevity, economics, work, health, policy, finance and social innovation.
