A nonprofit helping people and institutions prepare for demographic change.
The Shift Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization. We train leaders, deliver open research, and support organizations and governments as they implement solutions for longer lives, aging populations, and multigenerational communities — with a focus on Latin America.
Turn demographic awareness into real help for people and institutions
Deliver public-interest training, research, standards, and implementation support so societies and institutions can prepare for the demographic transformation of the 21st century.
People are living longer. Birth rates are falling. Societies are becoming more multigenerational. Yet many workplaces, health systems, pensions, and public services were designed for a younger population — leaving older adults and working families underserved.
We run programs that give leaders and organizations evidence, practical tools, and training so they can improve services, workplaces, and policies for the people who need them.
Independent. Nonprofit. Focused on public benefit.
The Shift Foundation is a nonprofit. We do not operate as a commercial consultancy. Any revenue is reinvested into our mission: training leaders, supporting organizations, and helping communities across Latin America prepare for demographic change.
We deliver open research, steward The Shift Standard, support implementation, and run leadership programs through The Shift Institute. Our priority region is Latin America, where populations are aging quickly with less time and fewer resources to adapt.
To expand real-world implementation, we collaborate with The Shift, an affiliated organization. The Foundation runs public-interest programs; The Shift helps put them into practice. We are funded through donations, grants, and philanthropic support.
